Architecture, Interior and Object

Architecture does not begin with the building itself, but with the question under which conditions people experience space.

The work of Felix Schwake operates between architecture, interior design and functional art. Its point of departure is not form, but the relationship between body, object and space. Design is understood as a sequence of decisions that influence perception, orientation and use.

At the centre is a responsibility for the built environment. Materials, proportions, scale and joining are not regarded merely as means of design, but as conditions that shape atmosphere and possibilities for action.

The projects range from individual objects to complete interiors and architectural concepts. They emerge within different cultural and spatial contexts — from private residences and yachts to buildings in urban and landscape settings.

Architecture, interior design and object are not understood as separate disciplines. They form different scales of the same task: to create the conditions under which space can be experienced.
